I’ve seen the sunrise in Dublin city and the meadows of Edinburgh
Now I’m in this bush town Harrow, with Red gums and different stars

How I wait for this journey, if the old boys could see me now
They’ll be filled with endless wonder

Red gums and different stars

And I’ll - ride, all the way to Queenscliff
And I’ll- sail, over the sea
And I’ll- fight, more than the crease

Red Gums and different stars.
Time to roll on.

Rolling out on this horse draw carriage, these roads are rough as hell
Fresh meat cooked by firelight, laughter fills the air.

These hands weren’t meant for this life, city and towns made them soft.
Wagon wheel against a hard rock, Cuzens flies through the air.

And I’ll - ride, all the way to Queenscliff
And I’ll- Sail, over the sea
And I’ll- fight, more than the crease

Red Gums and different stars.
Time to roll on

Dark clouds ahead
Ambush awaits
Out come their guns
I don’t wait I give them one

And I’ll - ride, all the way to Queenscliff
And I’ll- Sail, over the sea
And I’ll- fight, more than the crease

Red Gums and different stars.
Time to roll on.

Sailing out on this silent ship
Out of Queenscliff, to an old Kent Town.

Ancient Water.
And a tide that won’t relent
New world beckons
Or a winter in a calico tent.

Now full sail, on this silent ship
What’s coming up on this walkabout.

On the silent boat.
Captains Faith, will keep you strong.
Sets the course to new hope,
Hold fast your friends.
Hold fast your friends.
Holding on.

Ooo ohhh

Sailing, out on the open sea
Deep blue south
As ice -bergs slip by.

Ancient water,
Held by the pressure and the cold
Broken free
Of the ice pack or government hold.

Now full sail, on this silent ship
What’s coming up on this walkabout.

On the silent boat.
Captains Faith, will keep you strong.
Sets the course to new hope,
Hold fast your friends.
Hold fast your friends.
Holding on.

Johnny Mullagh- by Todd Cook

20,000 through Kennington gate, Ladies and carriages and all the press they wait. Waiting on this great event, an epoch in history, so the news went.
The crowd cheered the mob from the antipodes, They had purple sashes blowing in the breeze. Flick of the coin and given the ball, They gave three cheers and a war cry. Singing-

Between the wickets with a speed of a deer, playful and agile and a tongue peculiar to the ear. They battled hard but lost by an innings and seven runs, all the bats failed, all but one. “A travesty to cricket not a third rate bat amongst them, second rate bowling,” the press would tirade against them. But the crowd carried of a player from the touring team who made 73 and took the best catch they’ve ever seen.

It’s not over, Johnny Mullagh, all the time to rock back hit through the line
The elation on top of the crowds shoulders, the great- all rounder.

The game rolled in to the hollowed turf at lords where an earl, a viscount played so did a lieutenant cornel. The army captain showed great race relations but when the game was played it was everyman to his station. The pitch was erratic, Cuzens took ten, the tourists hit the lead then it disappeared again.
No one could last bruised battered over-awed, with a brave 75 Mullagh top scored.

It’s not over, Johnny Mullagh, all the time to rock back hit through the line
The elation on top of the crowds shoulders, the great- all rounder.
ooo, yeah yeah

Head up north where the underdog howls, breathes life into the team again.
They one in Witham and Longsight. With spirit they one ten.
Tea brake race, a woomera flies, deadly with bat and ball in hand,
Defined and described as the best batter in the land.

A red gum bat and a hunters eye.
Shearers hands that glide.
Lifted up on the crowds shoulders, strength of men in darker times
Shone the light until over, our great Johny Mullagh

It’s not over, Johnny Mullagh, all will find your strength flows from your bat through time. The elation on top of the crowds shoulders. Our great Johnny Mullagh

Tom Wills- by Todd Cook

Under blue sky red dust fills the air
Mount William homestead Marngook flows with flair
Let the boys play

Running by the creek he knew many songs
Djab wurrung lands, innocence can’t be wrong.
Hide from fathers gaze

Off to boarding school, when he was just 14.
Bat and ball in hand, 10,000 miles away
fight for every yard

He could feel it something had to change
He kept a boomerang on his shelf with dreams of blue sky play
Let the possum skin fly

Oh sing it to you now
Time to look ahead
Running with you now
Ohh, let the possum skin fly

Returned as a champion flamboyant strong.
Bat and ball in hand, sight to behold
Flock to watch him play

10 rules created 10 to stand by,
10 for the past and 10 for the future to fly.

Let the possum skin fly.

He could feel it something had to change
He kept a boomerang on his shelf with dreams of blue sky play
Let the possum skin fly

Oh sing it to you now
Time to look ahead
Running with you now
Ohh, let the possum skin fly

Cullin-la-ringo pain, then the walk-a-bout tour
If retribution is loss, then knowledge is a rock
