Salt of the Earth
How many times have you walked down that lane
Cold morning dew and dreams of soaking rain
How many mouths have you fed today
Worked till sunset now the stars have their way
Trees move side to side- as the cold wind blows
Your hands oh they tell the tale- of your life with the land.
Salt of the Earth
Honest as the day is long
Salt of the Earth
You choose to stay when you could of run
Salt of the Earth
And you stand, and you stand
Until the good times
Until the good times grow.
Until the good times grow.
Trees move side to side- as the cold wind blows
Your hands oh they tell the tale- of your life with the land.
Salt of the Earth
Honest as the day is long
Salt of the Earth
You choose to stay when you could of run
Salt of the Earth
And you stand, and you stand
Until the good times
Until the good times grow.
Salt of the Earth
Honest as the day is long
Salt of the Earth
You choose to stay when you could of run
Salt of the Earth
And you stand, and you stand
Until the good times
Until the good times grow.
Until the good times grow
Until the good times grow
Until the good times grow
Until the good times grow

Winter's Sun

The Wattle Bird it calls out welcomes a new son
the Wattle Tree it shines out, winters has had it's run
may you shine out bright against the darkest sky
lift old winters shades and roar with pride
We saw a Butcher Bird stand strong, as the Bowers gathered around
he stands calmly he hold 8 to 1
may you hold your ground if the flock is strong
stand your ground if you are the only one.
Eventually you fly
open up your heart and hands stretch your arms out wide.
golden hair and winters sun
the Wattle will shine
like a rising son.
We saw a Heron waiting he will get his fill
he stands with patience, time standing still
may you take your time with peace of mind
when it's time, find your mark.
Eventually you fly
open up your heart and hands stretch your arms out wide
golden Hair and winters sun
the Wattle will shine
like a rising son.

Odette

Red moon rising, endless wait
Midnight over, stars and haze
Odette
Driving home now, they let us leave
The bay was shining, fishermen’s keep
Odette
My heart has gained this love like a feather full of flight
My heart has more to give, so let it fly, let it fly- Odette
Your eyes watching, observant bright
Mid-air dancing, rosella flight.
Odette
My heart has gained this love like a feather full of flight
My heart has more to give, so let it fly, let it fly- Odette

Bruthen Floods

Tributaries run deep its rained hard before its coming down again
Tight lines and dark skies its rained hard before its coming down again
Rain comes down water flows rained hard before its coming down again
Picking up speed it flows downhill rained hard before its coming down again
Angry water river bed, Angry Water river
You can’t stop the water but you can get a boat
As turbulence flies sit back and float
If you see a brother down throw him a rope
You can’t stop the water you can regain
The hope
Hope
See the signs feel the tide
See the notice wrapped up in lies
Meant to razzle meant to divide
Flood coming quick everyone run hide
You can’t stop the water but you can get a boat
As turbulence flies sit back and float
If you see a brother down throw him a rope
You can’t stop the water you can regain
As the flood passes by it finds it’s own course, with the debris and disease and all the fallen sorts
Melts into the ocean with the blue and green never to be heard of and never to be seen
With the silt left behind everything grows- through he darken skies the wattle it glows the wattle it glows.
You can’t stop the water but you can get a boat
As turbulence flies sit back and float
If you see a brother down throw him a rope
You can’t stop the water you can regain
The Hope
Hope
Hope
Hope
give me hope

Running round city streets slow down and dream of home
Where the river flows in the night the eagle watching the valley bellow
Home made sled wet slope - all laugh- brother bleeds
Winter mud steals your boots green patchwork goes on and on
Oh I remember happy days can’t see over the next hill
Oh I remember Happy days- Catch a rabbit hold it stills
Running round summers heat- Thistles gone
This horse moves where you look- break away steer- think as one.
Strength of the old mans – farmers grit and honest words
Mum has that comfort stare – wood fire against the winter chill.
Oh I remember happy days can’t see over the next hill
Oh I remember Happy days- Catch a rabbit hold it stills
Oh I remember happy days can’t see over the next hill
